RANKING ADVERTISEMENTS SELECTED FROM ONE OR MORE DATABASES BY GEORELEVANCE

This patent was filed by Josh Melick and his engineering counterpart during his time with AT&T Interactive. Josh helped build out a much more granular set of tools and algorithms for selecting “hyper-local” small businesses that could be better used by newer mobile devices with very accurate GPS and mapping tools. We used this technology to build a best-in-class mobile publisher network and set of mobile relevant ads, where previously most ads were not hyper-local relevant.

Third Party Content Integration For Search Engine Optimization

Josh Melick filed this patent during his early days at Broadly.com, where the goal was to do a better job of getting SEO “credit” to businesses on their own website, even when that website may not allow for a backend integration / is only using a simple CMS without a full-fledged API. This is very common with simplistic SMB type websites, where SMBs essentially have their content taken over by the likes of Yelp, Google, TripAdvisor etc, where those platforms benefit from consumer driven content. It’s in the SMBs best interest to have much that content also flow back into their canonical website to present a unified view to their customers or potential customers.
